
Total teaching time during the school week is 23 hours and 30 minutes (excluding registration and assembly time).
The school day is organised as follows:
8.45 am
Children may enter the playground and proceed to class. Free flow entry into school via two external school doors.
The school takes no responsibility for children who enter the playground before this.
Children are not allowed to play ball games at this time, nor go on the climbing frames.
8.55 am
The bell goes.
Children are supervised to class and registered.
Any child arriving after 8.55 am is marked LATE.
10.30 - 10.50 am
Mid–morning break.
Children may bring a piece of fruit to eat. Drinking water is available from fountains in the playgrounds.
12.00 noon
Lunch break begins.
Supervision by midday assistants (MDAs).
Head or Deputy Headteacher on duty.
A variety of play equipment is provided.
Home dinner children only, are allowed to leave the premises.
1.00 pm
Bell goes for end of lunch. Children line up.
Children are supervised to class by their teachers.
2.30 - 2.45 pm
Children in Reception and KS1 afternoon break.
3.30 pm
School finishes.
Children in different year groups leave the building by different exits.
Parents/carers should wait for their children outside the appropriate door.
Children are not allowed to play ball games after school, nor go on the climbing frames. In the past parent/
carers have used the opportunity of lining up in the playground to pass on messages or chat to the class teacher
about an important matter. If you need to speak to your child's class teacher you may do so after school. If the
matter is very urgent then either please call in at the school office to leave a message or make an appointment.
